Founded in 1860 by
Louis-Ulysse Chopard, the Chopard watches are totally astonished, unique and
elegant watches in the entire globe. This Swiss-based company put forward masterpieces in watches, jewelry
and accessories. Majorly it is most exalted for its Swiss design watches with
fine finishing. Its main headquarters is in Meyrin, near Geneva. The Scheufele
family, headed by Karl-Friedrich and
Caroline Scheufele, bought Chopard in 1963 and moved the company into its
current place in 1976.
Chopard watches collections include happy diamonds, Happy Sport, Happy Sport
II, Classic, La Strada, L.U.C and Imperiale. Among them the famous sport watch L.U.C which
have automatic movement and notable power reserve, is by far the most
innovative watch. The company took almost 3 years of research to develop such
kind of watch. Also L.U.C. products come with COSO certification (which is the
institute responsible for certifying the accuracy and precision of wristwatches
in Switzerland).
In 1988 Chopard get into
partnership with the Mille Miglia, the renowned classic car rally in Italy and
decided to create 1000 Miglia sport watch collection. The Miglia line is a
fusion of watches they build and the features of a professional racecar. The
dial of the watch was designed in such way to read easily while racing. Additional features such as chronograph and
GMT indicator can be used particularly for auto-racing. In 1988 only, it became
the event sponsor of the Mile Miglia race.
Later in 1993, the
Chopard launched Happy Sport Collection which was admired by all. It came in a
variety of shapes according to customer’s preference. This kind of distinction
in watches was never seen. The round and square models give it a stylish look
and the machinery was done by top qualified R&D engineers. The Happy sport
collection is still prominent today. The brand became official partner of the
Cannes Film Festival in 1998 which have been a boost for the company. The joint
venture leads to introduction of a new award to promote creativity in films,
Chopard Trophy award. Its products are have made many public appearances. As these
watches are worldwide desired by celebrities and are regularly seen on the red
carpet of grandest event.
It has
its major inspiration from race-car (sports cars) which can be reflected in
their luxury
watches for men and women. In 2002
Chopard became the official partner and timekeeper for the Automobile Club de Monaco race. Also In 2010, Chopard initiated
three-year partnership supporting WWF's Tiger Initiative, a conservation
project aiming at saving wild tigers from extinction. The brand’s products are ideal combination of
style and sports. It’s among the top brand of watches in globe. The company’s
estimated sales were €550 million in total
sales and €250 million in watches with about 100 stores around the world, which
makes it one of the profitable watch brands in the world.
