The Popularity of Breguet Watches with the Time

Founded by Abraham-Louis Breguet in Paris in 1775, Breguet is a Swiss manufacturer of luxury watches. These watches are currently a part of the Swatch conglomerate. It is one of the oldest surviving watch making establishments and has been instrumental in developing numerous watch-making technologies. Since 1976, these watches have been produced in the Vallée de Joux in Switzerland. Standing as elite and ubiquitously elegant, these watches are crafty, lavish and adorable.

Breguet Watches
Producing the first wrist watch in 1810, presently, there are two lines of production of Breguet watches – Women’s and Gentlemen’s, each with 5 specific series. Gentlemen’s watches include the Classique, Marine, Heritage, Type XX, XXI and La Tradition. The women’s watches are distinguished by their remarkable embellishment with diamonds, which include Classique, Marine, heritage, Type XX and Reine de Naples. Every single timepiece from Breguet possesses its own number, and each series has its specific characteristics. For instance, the timepieces belonging to the Marine series have big cases and screw-binding winder. The women’s model of these watches are encrusted with diamonds and made of high quality gold. Breguet watches are adored for their guilloche dials, coin-edge cases and blue pomme hands.

Breguet innovations
This company launched the first automatic watches called perpetuelles, in 1780. This was the beginning of its many innovations and inventions which have shaped the course of watchmaking history. Several other important contributions are the shock-absorbing parachute system, the first watch with a single hand and the development of the moon-face mechanisms. Bruguet therefore is a symbol of technological avant-garde and these inventions have made their indelible mark in history.

Architecture
Breguet provides strong support to the palace of Versailles, contributing to the preservation of Europe’s historical and cultural heritage. It is a tribute to one of Breguet’s most ardent admirers, the Queen. The Petit Trianon, the Queen’s favorite can today is returned to its former splendor with the financial aid of Breguet. This gives the world an opportunity to admire the grandeur of what was once an important part of the Queen’s domain.

Breguet and Music
Breguet is committed to the preservation of art and culture across the globe and has left its mark in the area of music. Recently, in the 2010-2011 sessions, it became the official timepiece of the oldest American Symphony orchestra, the New York Philharmonic. It has also sponsored concerts by other music groups such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic. This association of Breguet with music displays the beautiful collaboration of the Haute Horlogerie and Music, both of which share a common driving force of inspiration and creativity.

June 26, 2014 marked the 213th anniversary of the patent of the Tourbillon, a revolutionary invention Breguet.  This top watch brand has been mentioned in numerous works of literature and has impacted every region of the world. It is a symbol of elegance that lends an air of aristocracy to those who wear a Breguet watch.
